NTU GYM (Green Youth Movement) Leaders Participate in National TAYAR Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)

The Green Youth Movement (GYM) President and Vice President of the National Textile University (NTU), Faisalabad, actively participated in the three-day TAYAR (Training Adolescents and Youth for Advocacy in Resilience) Training of Trainers (ToT) held from October 14–16 at the University of the Punjab, Lahore. The national initiative is jointly organized by the Prime Minister's Youth Programme (PMYP), UNICEF, the Higher Education Commission (HEC), the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), and the School of Leadership Foundation (SoLF) to strengthen youth capacity in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR).
The intensive training equipped GYM leaders with knowledge and practical skills in disaster preparedness, climate resilience, school safety, emergency response, and community-based resilience planning. As part of the programme’ s nationwide cascade model, the trained NTU GYM representatives will now conduct structured DRR awareness sessions for fellow university students and extend outreach activities to schools, promoting a culture of preparedness and resilience among youth. Their participation reflects NTU's continued commitment to empowering students as responsible leaders and active contributors to sustainable and resilient communities.
