A special exhibition was organized at the National Textile University, Faisalabad, under the auspices of the Wings Society, aimed at empowering female students and women to become self-sufficient and financially strong through business. In this exhibition, female students set up stalls showcasing various products crafted with their skills.
According to a university spokesperson, this initiative was taken to encourage women toward entrepreneurship and help them stand on their own feet. The exhibition featured textile designs, embroidery, bags, jewelry, household items, shoes, and handmade products. The students not only demonstrated their creativity by producing these items but also had the opportunity to sell them.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Rector/Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Rashid Masood, stated that this support from the university is the first step toward the economic development and independence of female students and women. If women are given opportunities, they can not only change their own lives but also play a significant role in the national economy. Our effort is to instill practical business skills in students alongside education.
Participating students shared their experiences, noting that such platforms boost their confidence and allow them to turn their skills into profit. One student said, “This time, we have received a very positive response to our products, and we are planning to take our small businesses online as well.”
The university has been regularly organizing such exhibitions for several years to provide maximum business opportunities to students and enable them to become economically empowered. On this occasion, Dr. Danish Mehmood Betab, Ms. Nadia Shameem, Dr. Asma Hamed, Muhammad Aslam, Dr. Sajida Parveen, Rana Amjad Ali Naz, Sardar Pervaiz Akhtar, local industrialists, and women business leaders also generously encouraged and appreciated the students’ work.
