The preliminary meeting of National Curriculum Review Committee (NCRC) in the discipline of Textile Engineering Technology for bachelor’s degree program was held on 17-03-2022 to 19-03-2021 for 3 days at the National Textile University (NTU), Faisalabad.

The NCRC constituted a team of academic experts from 9 universities and representatives from industry, who participated in several sessions. The agenda of the meeting was curriculum development of B.Sc. Engineering Technology Program through more practical work engagement as well as keeping in view the futuristic approach, market demand and societal needs as per the scope of NTC and guidelines of Sydney Accord. The members elected Dr. Yasir Nawab, Director School of Engineering & Technology, National Textile University, as convener of NCRC whereas Dr. Assad Farooq, Head of Department of Fiber Technology, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad was elected as Co-Convener and Dr. Sheraz Ahmad elected as secretary of the committee. NTU was represented by Hafiz Ghulam Muhammad.

Welcome session was chaired by Engr. Imtiaz Hussain Gilani, Chairman National Technology Council. Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain, Rector, NTU, Faisalabad gave a welcome speech and motivated the members to develop a curriculum that led to produce technologist, with the ability to contribute to socio-economic development of country.

On last day, Dr. Yasir Nawab, concluded the meeting with note of thanks followed by distribution of souvenirs among the participants.
