An industrial visit to Rana Textiles Mills was arranged Dr.Usman Javed and Ms.Aroobah Mumtaz (Faculty Members, School of Arts and Design).

Rana Textile Mills Ltd. is a leading manufacturer of Home Textile, Fashion apparel and Home Furnishing Products. They have 90 operational jacquard looms including Shuttle Less Repair looms, Shuttle-less jacquard Looms, Sulzer Looms, Raschel Jacquard Machines, Velvet and Corduroy Looms. Rana Textile is on the weaving scene for over 55 years. Starting from a small unit, they have progressed to national pride and global recognition. They have earned the loyalty of clients at national and international level with their quality products.

Mr. Faqir Hussain (Marketing manager, Rana Textiles) welcomed the visitors and explained the design potential of jacquard looms. After a detailed discussion with the faculty members and agreement from both sides, Mr.Faqir Hussain agreed to sponsor the thesis project of Ms.Sumbal Islam (7-semester BTD) based on customized jacquard photographs. Furthermore, the future collaboration in projects and student internship program was also discussed.
