2^nd International Conference on Technical Textiles was held at National Textile University on February 18-19, 2020. Engr. Jawed Salim Qureshi, Chairman PEC participated in the opening ceremony of conference as chief guest. Worthy Rector Professor Dr. Tanveer Hussain delivered the opening remarks. Dr. Munir Ashraf, Conference secretary, presented the welcome note.  

The conference was organized through sponsorship provided by GIZ Pakistan, Interloop Ltd., HEC Pakistan, WWF Pakistan, Nizam Sons, Jeanologia and i-textiles. Dr. Yasir Nawab and Dr. Munir Ashraf played a key role in the organization of conference.  

Total 51 talks were delivered comprising of 43 technical talks and the remaining related to policy making, future directions and business development. Sven international speakers from USA, UK, Malaysia, Turkey, China and 36 national speakers from industry and academia presented the excellent research work. The participation from about 60 industries and 23 academic institutions created a wonderful cluster. We are very thankful to the eminent speakers for coming and sharing the knowledge. The topic covered in the conference are textile-based composites, functional textiles, electrospinning, sustainability, technical yarns, performance coatings, biomaterials for technical textiles and digital clothing. In fact, this forum provided a wonderful platform for linkage of industry and academia, resolving the issues through mutual discussion and deciding a way forward for the prosperity of industry and ultimately of our country. In the closing ceremony, the concluding remarks were delivered by Dr. Amjed Javid. At the end chief guest Imtiaz Ahmed Rastagar, CEO Rastagar & Co. addressed the participants and speakers sharing his experience and valuable suggestions for researcher and industry.
