His Excellency, the Ambassador of Germany Mr. Bernhard Schlagheck visited the National Textile University (NTU). He was accompanied by Mr Martin Herzer, the head of the economic section at the German Embassy. The Ambassador was welcomed by Professor Dr Tanveer Hussain, the Rector of National Textile University who also gave a brief presentation about the Pakistani Textile Industry and the history and role of the National Textile University in supporting the development of the national textile industry. Professor Tanveer Hussain, Professor Tahir Shah and the senior NTU faculty had a wide ranging discussion about possibility of collaboration between NTU and the appropriate education and research institutions in Germany. The German Ambassador showed great interest in supporting and facilitating the interaction between German and Pakistani academia and industry field of textiles.  Finally, the guest was taken for the tour of the NTU’s research and development facilities. After visiting National Textile Research Centre and academic departments, the Ambassador appreciated the range of R&D activities at NTU and showed keen interest in developing research ties with the institution.
