Complying with the Prime Minister’s Monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign 2019

Complying with the Prime Minister’s Monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign 2019, National Textile University (NTU) Faisalabad has actively participated in this National event in true spirit. The campaign was led by Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain, Rector NTU, along with Prof Dr Zahid Rizwan, Dean FOS; Mr. Salman Saif, Registrar; Mr. ZabihUllah Khan, Controller Examination; and Dr Zulfiqar Ali Raza, Chairman Applied Sciences Department. More than 340 plants were planted, which include Mango Garden of 50 plants, 100 Jamun plants, within the University premises. The fruit trees would be a great support to attain a balanced ecosystem and a source of food and habitat for the birds. Moreover, 100 Pilkhan, 70 bakain, and 20 Barna plants were planted alongside the University boundary wall. These plants would not only keep the ambient temperature pleasant but also help to reduce air pollution and provide oxygen and cool shade to the passersby. Keeping up the spirit, to fully support the Prime Minister’s Plantation Campaign, the University also aims to plant Neem, Goldmore, and Jacaranda trees in near future.
