FET faculty members published a monograph in Textile Progress


FET faculty members (Dr. Abdul Jabbar, Dr. Salman Naeem, Dr. Abdul Basit and Mr. Faheem Ahmad along with other co-authors) published a review monograph “Cotton in the new millennium: advances, economics, perceptions and problems” in Textile Progress.

Textile Progress publishes critical, comprehensive and authoritative reviews of research into all aspects of the textile, apparel and footwear industries, associated sciences, social sciences and technologies. With emphasis on recent developments and improvements in both product and service performance, the journal aims to be topical in its choice of research review subjects. 

Pakistan is the 4th largest producer of cotton and 8th largest exporter of textile commodities. Textile sector which is mainly based on cotton as a raw material, contributes 57% to the country's exports. This issue highlights, the advances in cotton cultivation and processing, the economic impact of cotton in different parts of the world andthe environmental perception of cotton fibre and efforts in organic and genetically-modified (GM) cotton production. The issue is worth readable for students, researchers and people related to cotton based industry and economy.
