Mr. Furqat Sidiqov (Uzbekistan Ambassador in Pakistan), Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram from Uzbekistan Pakistan Business Council and Mr. Muhammad Afzal Khan from MAK & Sons visited National Textile University on January 28, 2019. The purpose of the visit was to enhance mutual understanding and strengthen student and faculty exchange program. The Rector, NTU Dr. Tanveer Hussain and Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Yasir Nawab gave official welcome to Uzbek ambassador and his team. The Rector gave a presentation on National Textile University and the textile industry of Pakistan. It was followed by the presentation by Mr. Furqat Sidiqov. The ambassador gave an overview of textile industry of Uzbekistan. He emphasized that textile industry of Uzbekistan is majorly cotton centric and Uzbek is the top producer of cotton in the world. A mutual collaboration between Uzbekistan and Pakistan will strengthen textile sector. The delegation appreciated the facilities available at NTU. They showed interest to participate in the upcoming DICE/COVITEX conference being held in March 2019 and an official MoU will be signed between NTU and Uzbek universities in this event.
