NTU exhibited innovated products developed in collaboration of ITextiles in International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) Karachi, 2018 

Ideas 2018 was held at Expo center Karachi from 27-30th November. More than 250 exhibitors from approximately 47-48 strategic partners and friendly countries from across the world participated in a four-day International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS). A team of over 10 people participated from National Centre for Composite Materials, NTU in IDEAS and presented jointly developed products in collaboration with I-Textile. 

The event was attended by Worthy Rector Dr. Tanveer Hussain, Director NCCM Dr. Yasir Nawab and Director ORIC Ahsan Nazir.  Project team leader Dr. Muhammad Umair displayed bullet proof vest for 3 different NIJ levels. Uniforms for armed personnel’s and combat helmets were also displayed. NTU team take the pride of being the sole team at IDEAS that is producing indigenous bullet protection products in collaboration with industry.

TDF-110 project "Light weight bullet proof vest made from 3D comingled woven thermoplastic composite and novel auxetic woven fabrics" got special attention at IDEAS 2018. Delegates from Pakistan armed forces, Pakistan aeronautical complex and Pakistan ordinance factories visited the stall.

NTU’s products were highly appreciated by national and international delegates and meetings are in progress regarding the commercialization of prepared products.
