How to Develop the Textile Sector of Pakistan - Challenges & Opportunities


Department of Management Science, National Textile University, Faisalabad in collaboration with Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized one day workshop on "How to Develop the Textile Sector of Pakistan - Challenges & Opportunities" at NTU, Faisalabad. The workshop was chaired by the Guest of Honor, Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain, Rector, National Textile University, Faisalabad and Co-Chaired by Dr. Sajjad Ahmad Baig, Principle Investigator, Thematic Research Grant Programme (TRGP). The participants from Textile Industry, academia, and entrepreneurs attended the workshop. The program was comprised on lectures and discussions in which Mr. Muhammad Zia-ur-Rehman, Lecturer / Co- Principal Investigator, TRGP and Dr. Tahira Sadaf, Assistant Professor, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad presented their lectuers regarding the topic and given very useful insights/findings for development of Textile Industry of Pakistan. The Guest of Honor, Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain, congratulated the organizers for carrying out a successful event and appreciated the effort of combining the intellectual capital of Textile Industry of Pakistan into one plate form for sharing their ideas regarding improvement of one of the big export sector of Pakistan. He further stressed in context with GSP plus status of Pakistan that there is dire need of achieving competitive advantage through innovation, value addition and unique products that could satisfy the needs of local and foreign customers. The organizers of workshop Dr. Sajjad Ahmad Baig, Organizer Principle Investigator (TRGP) and Muhammad Zia-ur-Rahman, Co-Principle Investigator (TRGP) paid thanks to all participants for attending workshop. At end, the Guest of Honor, presented shields among organizers, presenters and guests.
