Faisalabad Business School of NTU Signs Agreement with GCUF for AI-Based Language Teaching Project

National Textile University's Faisalabad Business School (FBS) has signed an agreement with Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) to collaborate on a project titled "Enhancing Language Teaching Efficiency with AI: Automated Error Tagging for Large Classrooms in Pakistan." The agreement was signed by Dr. Sajjad Ahmad Baig, Director of FBS, NTU, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asim Mahmood, Chairperson of the Department of Applied Linguistics, GCUF.

This project aims to integrate AI technology into language teaching, offering automated student error profiling and detailed feedback based on the International Corpus of Learner English (ICLE) and IELTS Writing Task 2 band descriptors. The initiative will provide personalized feedback to students, helping them improve their English writing skills.

Key components of the project include:

  • Student Error Profiling: AI-based analysis of student writing with personalized feedback.
  • Teacher Training: Training teachers to effectively use the AI system.
  • Customized Curriculum: Tailoring curricula based on student performance data.
  • Certificates of Appreciation/Participation: NTU students participating in the project will receive certificates recognizing their involvement.

With support from over 16 universities across Pakistan, this collaboration will enhance English teaching and learning at NTU, offering teachers and students advanced resources to improve language proficiency
