The NTU Community Services Society organized a visit to Jhuggi Model School, located on Samundri Road in Faisalabad, on Monday, December 11, 2023, in collaboration with the societies of Textile Design, Fashion Design, and Visual Arts.

Under the patronage of Dr. Muzammil Hussain (jhuggi model school focal person), the Advisor Office convened two meetings, on November 1, 2023, and December 5, 2023, to discuss the role of NTU in advancing the education of street children. By starting an interaction with the street children, this visit acted as a gateway to support their educational opportunities.

Convener Dr. Muhammad Shahzad Iqbal, along with the NCSS team, visited the Jhuggi School and spent time with the children. Students engaged children in various activities, such as drawing and sports (ludo, cricket, football, badminton), and mingled with them. All sports items, stationery, and winter items (sweaters, high-necks, socks, etc.) were handed over to the Jhuggi Model School administration for further use. The people of Jhuggi’s were pleased to receive gifts and supportive behavior from NTU students. The women of Jhuggi presented bangles to the female students of NTU as a token of love.
