Office of Research Innovation& Commercialization (ORIC) hosted a visit of Swabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry in order to discuss the future prospective plans for industrial research and to provide the facilitation to establish the Textile College/Institute in the district Swabi with collaboration of University of Swabi. 

The delegation was led by the president of SCCI, Mr. Sheraz Akram Bacha alon with other 05 member’s from Swabi based textile industries, Research Director from University of Swabi and Secretary General Swabi Chamber. 

Mr. Salman Saif, Registrar NTU, Dr. Munir Ashraf, Associate Professor Chairman Textile Processing Department, Dr. Ahsan Nazir Director, ORIC, Mr. Ata ur Rahman, Deputy Director –ORIC, Mr. Asif Bashir Almani, Manager Business Incubation Center warmly welcomed the delegation and provide the complete assistance in the meeting and visit. 

The NTU representatives and CBL officials have conducted two rounds of talks regarding Economic Viability plans for the Industrial Research on Textile manufacturing and Establishment of “Textile Institute/College” to promote and add the value in textile industries in collaboration with Swabi Chamber & University of Swabi. 

National Textile University and Swabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a document of mutual understanding –MoU to promote the industrial researches, promote and develop the industrial enterprises and national exports. 

At the end of this visit and meeting. The delegates’ form Swabi Chamber and University of Swabi were facilitated in visit of different research and technology incubation centers i.e Textile Processing Research Laborites, National Textile Research Center –NTRC, Business Incubation Center –BIC, Department of ORIC and Electro spun and Nanomaterial’s, Department of Yarn Processing and Stitching & Designing Departments.
