Department of Applied Sciences visited National Textile Research Centre (NTRC) on July 15, 2016. This tour was a great opportunity for the faculty and staff members to get introduced to new machinery and equipment used in textile industry.

The team from Department of Applied Sciences consisits of Dr. Muhammad Tahir Hussain, Dr. Zahid Rizwan, Dr. Z.A. Raza, Dr. M. Arshad, Dr. Nadeem Nasir, Dr. M. Tahir Siddiq, Mr. Naseer Ahmad, Mr. Saeed Ahmad, Ms. Shazia Muzaffar, Dr. Umber Sheikh, Mr. Muhammad Yasir Mahmood, Mr. Rehan Butt, Ms. Sumayya Munim, Ms. Shahina, Ms. Sonia Ijaz, Ms. Zahra Batool, Ms. Tashbehy Batool, Ms. Kanwal Anwar, Haji Muhammad Yousaf and Mr. Khadim Hussain.

The Director NTRC Dr. Rashid Masood hosted the team by giving a detailed introduction to different yarn types and how to weave them. Moreover, the team was led to emerging textile technologies in healthcare. Latest equipment for textile processing and dying, increase comforts and testing machinery was also shown.

The department hope for a better research in natural sciences (chemistry, mathematics, physics and statistics) by linking them with latest textile technology.
