National Textile University successfully organized All Pakistan Inter-University Hockey Championship 2016-2017 (Zone-E) from 9-12 March, 2017, in collaboration with Higher Education Commission, Islamabad. The Rector National Textile University, Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain inaugurated the Hockey Championship. On this occasion, Hockey Olympian Manzoor-ul-Hassan (Ex-Pakistan Hockey Team Captain), Olympian Rao-Saleem Nazam, Olympian Muhammad Usman (Ex-Pakistan Hockey Team Captain), Olympian Shahid Hussain, Olympian Khalid Bashir joined secretary Pakistan Hockey Federation were the Chief Guests. Hockey teams from various reputed institutions including National Textile University, Faisalabad; Government College University, Faisalabad; Bahaudin Zikariya University, Multan; Islamia University, Bahawalpur; Superior University, Lahore, participated in the Championship. The opening match was played in hockey ground of National Textile University and the rest of the matches were played in the Hockey Stadium of Madina Town, Faisalabad.
