A workshop on tie and dye techniques was arranged for the 3rd semester BTD by the instructor, Ms. Maham Nadeem, in the subject of Textile Design foundation. Tie and dye is a traditional method of making patterns on fabrics by using different folding techniques and variety of resists which are necessary to the making of unique patterns and designs.

A skilled craft man was invited who taught the students about different styles of tie and dye and the process of color matching. He also shared the traditional recipes to fix the color on different types of fabric. Students learned the basics of shibori, bandhani, binding and folding techniques of tie and dye and made samples.
