Semester Assessment (2019-20) of Academic Programs of Department of Textile & Clothing and DPE


Quality Enhancement Cell of National Textile University (NTU), Karachi Campus conducted the Semester Assessment (2019-20) i.e., Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 (Online semester owing to pandemic lockdown) from 7-09-2020 to 21-09-2020, a process of internal quality assessment. The semester assessment process consists of planning, conducting, reporting and follow up. The undergraduate programs i.e., BS Textile Engineering, BS Polymer Engineering, BS in Textile Management and Marketing and Bachelor of Fashion Design were assessed. 

The objective is to streamline and ensure the quality assurance of academic programs through semester assessment leading to improvement of programs quality. Semesters were assessed in accordance with the criterion and standards given in the HEC's Policy Guidelines for Implementation of Uniform Semester System in HEIs of Pakistan, NTU's SOPs, Learning Management System (LMS), HEC/PEC Policy guidances on Covid 19 and Deans Committee Meeting / AQAC Meeting decisions.

The QEC Assessment Team comprised of Mr. Muhammad Ayaz Shaikh, Deputy Director QEC and Muhammad Usman, Assistant Director QEC conducted the semester assessment on the semester assessment proforma, based on assessment criteria, reviewed the course files, interacted with course teachers, lab engineers and HoD and visited academic facilities. QEC Assessment Team identified the weak areas and suggested improvements to concerned faculty and respective HoDs.

HoDs and  Faculty were very cooperative,responded and committed for improvement the quality of academic programs.
