The Department of Polymer Engineering at National Textile University Karachi Campus organized an Educational Field Trip to Engro Polymer and Chemical Limited (EPCL) for students in the third and fifth semesters on Monday, Dec 02, 2019. Dr. S. Saqib Shams (Assistant Professor, DPE) and Dr. Akbar Khan (Assistant Professor, DPE) were leading the students. The contact person at EPCL was Mr. Muhammad Nasir (Unit Manager Lab & Customer Support), Engro Polymer and Chemical Limited. The purpose of this field trip was to help students acquire a better understanding of polymer synthesis and industrial functions at EPCL which would enhance their classroom learning. Mr. Muhammad Nasir welcomed NTU KC faculty and students and presented details about Engro Polymer and Chemical Limited (EPCL) along with safety protocols to be followed at site and then lead the students and faculty to a tour of the facility while answering questions by students. This was followed by lunch and finally, the tour ended with a detailed visit of the testing lab.
