My name is UMER HAMEED. I have taken my first class Bachelor Degree Major in Textile Design from NATIONAL COLEEGE OF ARTS LAHORE in 2003.I opted Analogue Photography and Fashion Photography as minor during my studies. I gave my Final Project on THEATRE TEXTILES by taking Inspiration from the legendry myth of HEER of south Asia. At the beginning of my carrier I joined Sitara Textiles Faisalabad in 2004 as Textile Designer. My job Description includes creating Design for Local and Export Markets. Besides Design Creation my services incorporate with the photography of final designs and display. In 2005 I joined Faisalabad Institute of textile and Fashion Design GC University Faisalabad as lecturer and coordinator Design Department. I Joined National Textile University Faisalabad in the capacity of Assistant Professor in October 2010.Since then I am giving my services to Build Curriculum , road maps and Develop design Studios. For the Promotion of the campus organize different fashion Shows which played a very prominent role for the culture building of our region. I am also the in charge Drama Clubs and societies of the University. I am also performing duty of chairman, Department of Textile Design and contributing in curriculum enhancement according to new trends and technology. I am aware of that a teacher should be multi Exposure and I also want to retain my identity as researcher besides Textile designer. I love to do and teach Photography and Digital Arts. I have done 1 solo and 3 group exhibitions of photography and digital arts in Faisalabad Arts Council Pakistan. I have been shortlisted in IBDAA AWARDS DUBAI 2008.in the Category of Photography and visited Dubai for the Exhibition of my work

I enrolled in post graduate program of Ms Textiles & Clothing in 2011 and now successfully completed my degree. My research topic was ‘Influence of Films on fashion Trends of Pakistan from 1970 to 2010’.After completion of my research Work I presented my paper in OISTAT group meeting Belgium 2014.My Research work has been accepted in no of conferences for oral presentation. Now I intend to pursue my doctorate study in the field of Fashion & Textile Design
