CALL FOR RESEARCH PAPERS Research & Development Division
Invites submissions for “NTU RESEARCH PAPER CONTEST 2011”
From undergraduate research students from all the departments of NTU, Faisalabad. Purpose of the contest is to develop research skills and competency among NTU students, and evolve a curiosity to publish their research endeavour.
Awards
Awards of Rs. 15,000 for first place, Rs. 12,000 for second place and Rs. 9,000 for third place, along with certificates.
Research papers qualifying international standards will be facilitated to publish in relevant International Journals having Impact Factors.
Terms and Conditions
All entries should meet the following criteria:
Research paper being submitted for the contest should be derived from student’s own undergraduate research work.
Paper should be original and not being submitted or published elsewhere.
The contesting student should be first author in the research paper.
One author can enter only one paper as first author.
The student will have to submit a Palligrisim Rectify Certificate through his/her research supervisor.
Co-authorship
Papers written by more than one student are permitted for the contest; however, co-author(s)ed winners will share the specified monetary awards.
Paper Preparation Requirements
The paper must be written in English and adhere to the following guidelines:
Title page and abstract
The title page must include the author’s name, research supervisor’s name, departmental and university affiliation, expected degree completion date (month/year), telephone number and email address of corresponding author.
An abstract of no more than 150 words must follow the title page.
Page headers and/or footers should contain page numbers and a shortened title of the paper.
Formatting
Paper should be prepared as per format of IEEE published journals, and typed in MS Word program.
Appearance
Font should be Times New Roman - point size 12
Margins of 1 inch (2.5 cm) all around
Double line spacing
Length
The paper should in the range of 15-25 pages including all charts/graphs, references, and any appendices.
Submission
The candidate should submit a cover letter along with research paper.
Four hard copies of research paper must be submitted to the office of R&D Division along with soft copy at the address: zarazapk@yahoo.com (Dr ZA Raza).
The subject line of the email must include “NTU Research Paper Contest 2011 - LAST NAME” (where LAST NAME is the [first] author’s last name).

Revised version of already submitted research paper, if essential, should be re-submitted before the deadline.
Deadline
All research papers and related documents must be submitted by March 30, 2012.
Review Committee
Research papers will be judged by panels of at least three referees drawn from the Advance Study & Research Board of NTU, Faisalabad, along with external national/national referees from concerned research areas.
Awards Announcement
Awards will be announced in April 2012.
