“New thoughts and new ideas create new deeds. When they are for the betterment of mankind may they succeed… Cooperation spells success”.
Research & Development is a key component of our mission at NTU. At present, the identity of a university is based on its reputation for excellence in research and quality teaching which can be boosted if incubated in a strong and nutritional research culture. The worthy Rector of NTU is committed to provide a firm platform for building an ambitious strategy for developing an international reputation for the quality and competence of our research.
NTU is widely recognized for providing reliable technology transfer that is firmly focused on solving real-industrial problems. Underpinning our technical endeavors are strong partnerships with industry, business and government, which result in outcomes that greatly benefit the broader community region-wide, countrywide and worldwide.
Our research activities cover diverse areas of expertise including textiles, polymers, chemistry, nanotechnology, management, information technology, fashion designing etc. These areas being applied in nature hold the key to the future development of communities within our region. Our focus on these areas doesn't mean a narrowing of our scope - our research remains broadly based to ensure critical mass and intellectual breadth and enthusiasm. Rather, our focus on these areas differentiates NTU from other national institutions and encourages collaborations to develop across the university.
