(TE-141) Textile Basics & Materials:
Basic concepts and general introduction to textile processes from fiber to fabrics and introduction of most commonly used textile raw materials. This course will give students a basic understanding of the materials used in textile and apparel applications. Students will learn about fiber science; how fibers are manufactured and their physical and chemical properties, yarn manufacturing technology and yarn physical and aesthetic properties, fabric manufacturing and fabric physical and aesthetic properties, preparation, dyeing, and finishing applications on textile materials.

(DES-142) History of Art & Design:
This course is based on the study of Art & Design through the ages beginning with the advent of enlightenment and gradual evolutionary forms. Course will cover the discoveries, innovations and changes preceding the rise and fall of different civilizations i.e. Primitive, Egyptian, and Ancient near East. The basic idea is an understanding of Historical Art and design forms and develops student's skills in critical thinking, writing, and contextual studies.

(DES-141) Design Fundamentals:
The design fundamental course introduces ideas, methodologies, principles, and skills that comprise a common knowledge base important to all design courses. These fundamentals foster a multidisciplinary design experience among students and prepare them to move to the next level.

(DES-143) History of Fashion and Textile:
In this course an overview of fashion and textile trends will be viewed from an historical perspective. (DES-145) Drawing-I :
The Drawing-1 course introduces the fundamentals of drawing, with emphasis on observational study and expressive use of line, mass, value, perspective, and formal composition. Broad range of drawing media and approaches by working through a series of foundation studio exercise and students will acquire an understanding of how ideas can be formed and developed through visual thinking and manipulation of materials.

(DES-144) Introduction to Textile Designing:
Introduction to textile design with the emphasis on innovation, skills, creativity, and provides an opportunity to build on textile design skills, including a work placement and projects set with the industry. The course aims to train students primarily through experience of practice in designing and explore both new and traditional materials and new ways of combining them. Throughout the course student will be given a wide range of skills and experiences, both technical and creative, supported by an understanding of cultural, social and business skills.

(TE-142) Fabric and Apparel Structures:
The purpose of this course is to develop the Student's understanding of fabric formation processes, design of fabric structures, understanding the physical structure of three dimensional apparel forms and the elements of their assembly. Concepts in this course include in-depth understanding of fabric forming technologies, principles of design and physical structure of woven and knit fabrics, the relationship between design limitations and fabric forming technology garment sizing, three dimensional concepts of apparel, draping behavior and style features.

(DES-241) Drawing II:
This course will continue the process begun in drawing-I, building a solid foundation in basic drawing skills through observation. The student will aim to develop sensitivity to the structure, anatomy and expressive qualities of the human form in a variety of ways including; line, plane, value, mass and shape. Composition will be a consideration at all times. Along with rigorous observational study, students will work from a variety of sources to develop a broad understanding of visual solutions within contemporary art practice. The Emphasis will be on development of content, personal sources, techniques, presentation strategies, and methods of analysis through critique.

(TE-242) Color Theory and Technology:
Through this course student will be able to understand the Color theory and principles of color interaction, including additive, and subtractive color experience, study of harmony, contrast, focus, space, opacity, transparency, temperature and value in both wet and dry media, and related applications of color technology. It is also based on Introduction to traditional color theories and systems through comparisons and analysis. Emphasis is placed on the spectrophotometer measurement of color and the use of computer technology to create, analyze and match color.

(DES-242) Apparel Designing by Flat Pattern:
This course focuses on the technical aspects of apparel manufacturing such as ready-to-wear and custom construction techniques, several approaches to production pattern making, and pattern grading. The drafted master pattern will use to develop a variety of bodices, skirts, sleeves, collars, and shirts. The studentís skill will be developed in flat pattern making to create original garments which emphasize design principles, flat sketching, prototype development, fit, and assembly techniques.

(TE-241) Fabric Characteristic Studies:
This course based on the general appearance, properties and applications of fabrics. Identifying fabric is important. More important is the comparison of fabrics. This course will enable the students to know the true quality of a fabric by differentiating it from their characteristics. For example, water retention is very high in cotton and the lowest in polypropylene. Same with the drying time taken, very long in cotton and vice versa in polypropylene. Cotton and wool shrinks more than polyester and nylon.

(DES-243) Textile Surface Designing:
This course focuses on teaching of elements and principles of design in the development of surface designs for application to textiles. Course emphasizes in a variety of materials and mixed media, techniques, and textures to create original and simulated textile surface. Through this course students will develop the creative and technical skills to design fabric surface for both commercial and fine art applications.

(DES-244)Fashion Sketching:
In this course students will learn about fashion figure proportions, face, hands and feet, and will learn to sketch the technical croquis. Students will also learn how to create various fashion poses,
identify garment styles and design detail and demonstrate rendering techniques. Through this they will be able to undertake individual projects based around techniques. These include fronton
view, æ view and profile illustrations of faces, detailed hand and feet studies, full length and æ length fashion figures, as well as illustrations using different media ñ lead pencil, watercolor, colored pencil, gouache, and collage work.
