This is the age of economic supremacy and the nations having sound economic base are dominating the world. Developing countries are also striving to exploit their resources of personnel and materials for their economic revival. Pakistan has been blessed by Almighty Allah with such agricultural and mineral resources, which if properly exploited, can bring Pakistan among the leading nations of the world. Pakistan is one of the world leaders in export of cotton yarn, including coarse, medium and fine varieties. However, our earnings from textile trade are far less as compared to our competitors in the region. Reason being that we have yet to improve the quality of our products which is possible only if adequately qualified and trained man power is available in the country.
Keeping these facts in view the college management started diploma courses, aiming to train supervisory level manpower on the latest machinery under the supervision of highly specialized and experienced faculty.
Diploma courses are offered in the following areas
-
Spinning Technology
-
Weaving Technology
-
Knitting Technology
-
Textile Chemistry
Spinning Technology
Spinning is the largest sector of our textile industry and comprises most modern units capable of meeting international standards of quality and productivity. Availability of skilled technicians would further enhance its performance. The spinning sector is one of the most important sectors in Pakistan Textile industry. At present it comprises 445 textile mills in the country (50 composite units and 395 spinning units) with 8.6 million spindles and 146 thousand rotors. This course aims to develop the basic understanding of the spinning procedures.
Duration: Two Semesters
Fee Package: Rs.30,000/-
Weaving technology
Weaving industry holds an important position in textile industry of Pakistan. This industry is maintaining its pace with the new techniques and technologies being introduced in the world of textile. The frequent changes and globalization requires the workers of the industry to be fully at home with the latest processes so that international quality standards may be maintained. This diploma course has been specially designed to equip the workers of weaving industry with the required skills.
Duration Two Semesters
Fee Package Rs.30,000/-
Knitting Technology
Knitting has emerged in the recent years, as the second major industry producing fabric for garments. Many knitting and garment units have been set up and it is expected that in coming years kitting industry will grow further.
Keeping in view the growth of knitting sector and the shortage of skilled manpower faced by this segment of industry, this certificate course has been designed to impart knitting knowledge in a comprehensive manner so that it will benefit people involved in industry as well as in the trade of knitted goods.
Duration One Semester
Fee Package Rs.15,000/-
Textile Chemistry
Wet processing is a value addition area, in order to achieve our expected targets it is imperative that emphasis should given to this field. Processing Industry needs to be run on modern lines and its full capacity should be utilized. This objective can be achieved to a large extent if skilled manpower is available in this field.
Duration Two Semesters
Fee Structure Rs.30,000/-
Eligibility:
Candidate must have passed his/her matriculation exam with science subjects. Admissions are opened in August.
Executive training courses have been designed for executives, engineers, and professionals to meet the industry's crucial requirements.
These courses are announced time-to-time (on “when-needed” basis) or at proposal from the industry.
